Overview

The paralegal is a legal professional responsible for supporting the Corporate Underwriting Product department, with knowledge of commercial insurance contracts and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a Product Development attorney, drafting and proof-reading insurance policy language
  • Ensure insurance policy language adhere to Company's policies and procedures, product development drafting standards and compliance requirements.
  • Maintenance of product development drafting standards and management of insurance form attribute assignment.
  • Assist Product Development attorney with insurance legal research and analysis.
  • Perform product research and prepare competitor form comparisons.
  • Create user-friendly tools to aid Product Management & Field Underwriting staff.
  • Interpret data, analyze results, and provide ongoing task or project reports
  • Develop and implement strategies that optimize efficiency and quality

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    •  
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Working knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance

Organizational skills with ability to manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously, with minimal oversight

Education

Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification.
